The Victoria First Nations Clean Energy Gathering

The clean energy transition is unfolding at a rapid pace across Victoria, with solar and onshore/offshore wind farms, battery storage systems, and new electricity transmission projects reshaping the energy landscape.

It’s essential that our people and communities are equipped to manage and explore emerging opportunities in First Nations-led clean energy development and partnerships, as well as understand the risks.

To support this, the First Nations Clean Energy Network are hosting the Victoria First Nations energy gathering, a clean energy workshop on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Bendigo, Victoria on Tuesday 31st of March. This workshop will be aimed at First Nations people living in Victoria or non-First Peoples who work for Traditional Owner Corporations, who have been involved in energy discussions to date.

Together, we’ll unpack equity agreements in renewable energy projects, the current policy issues as well as have a masterclass from other First Nations groups on negotiating benefits for First Nations communities.

Workshop details:

  • Dates: Tuesday 31st of March

  • Time: 10am - 4pm

  • Venue: Larnangurrak, the Dja Dja Wurrung Corporate and Community Centre, 43 Hattam Street, Golden Square

To ensure there are enough spots for everyone, we will only be able to accommodate a maximum of 4 attendees per Traditional Owner Corporation and accommodation and travel assistance is limited to community members who need assistance in order to attend.
